(That's "Technology Highway" for those of > you on the other side of the world :-) I was wondering when someone would bring this up. I used to work in Pittsfield, MA, a medium-size city about 10 miles from the NY/MA border. When I first started interviewing in the 128/495 area, I was appalled at the ignorance of Massachusetts geography prevalent here. (I call this the "Is there intelligent life beyond 128?" attitude.) Some examples: Digital set up all the necessary travel arrangements for me to fly in from PittsBURGH. Wang refused to reimburse me for my interviewing expenses (340 miles, motel, and meals) because I was "traveling from within Massachusetts." Computervision's phone-screener forgot that he had dialed a different area code to reach me, and asked if I'd be commuting (140 miles). Andrew W. Rogers ...{harpo|ihnp4|ima|esquire}!inmet!andrew
