A woman was flying across the country, from Connecticut to Los Angeles
for the Olympic games, and taking her poodle, Fifi, with her.

When the "No smoking" sign went out, the man next to her, a brash,
uncouth sort, took a large cigar from his inside coat pocket, lit up
and began filling the area with acrid, nauseating smoke, even though
it was the no-smoking section.

The woman politely asked him to extinguish the cigar, and was met
with a brusque refusal.  After enduring the atmosphere for a while
longer, she became more insistent, demanding the cigar be removed.
She was no more successful this time than the last.

Her anger began to mount, and after the third rebuff she stood,
plucked the cigar from the man's mouth, opened a window (yeah, opened
a window!) and pitched the cigar out.

This did not especially sit well with the erstwhile smoker.  As soon as
the woman retook her seat, he ceremoniously stood, grabbed Fifi, strode
to the same window, and pitched out the dog!

The woman was shattered; Fifi was her constant companion, friend,
and just about everything else you can think of.  She screamed, wailed,
moaned, cursed the man, and basically made a complete spectacle of herself
for the remainder of the trip.

Finally the plane landed.  Still sobbing, the woman stepped down the
ramp, then stopped suddenly.  Fifi was on the ramp, running toward her
with an object in his mouth.

You know what the object is, don't you????????
