Use of repeaters is one of the methods used to join cable.  But to install
a repeater, you need to have two transceiver each tap onto one segment of
the Ethernet cable.  And at the ends of each cable segment, you need
terminators.  If your cable orientation is linear (i.e. almost along a
continuous path), you can use trunk cable connectors and sex adaptor to
join two segment.  Make sure you are using the 50 ohm connectors not the
CATV standard 75 ohm connectors.  Otherwise, signal will be degraded.  Also
don't forget to terminate the joined trunk at both ends using terminators.
I would think that using connectors and sex adaptor is cheaper and more
reliable because no active element is involved.

Above is an example.  Depend on availability in your area, you might use
female pairs.
