Washington, Computer Sci Lines: 17 After hearing the recent plaintive requests on net.micro.apple for a gateway between the Usenet and the Arpanet mailing list named info-mac@sumex, I contacted the Edward Pattermann, moderator of that group, and asked him if he'd be willing to have one set up. Info-mac is already a fairly high volume newsgroup and so consequently he had some well-founded objections to setting up a two way connection between a net.* group and the list. However, he did not have objections to setting up a read-only-like connection such as what one gets with a fa.* group. This doesn't seem like such a big restriction to me since there already is lots of mac-related discussion in net.micro.apple. Usenet can continue to use net.micro.apple for its discussions but can also refer to fa.info-mac for the information it provides. Consequently, we have established a gateway from info-mac@sumex into fa.info-mac at uw-beaver. --Rick
