There is a full UNIX-compatible version with extensions (what does that mean) available. It is called PolyMake and is available from: PolyTron P.O.Box 787 Hillsboro, OR 97123 503-648-8595 (this is from dir. assist.) There is also some version written for the Computer Innovations' Compiler for the DEC rainbow and runs under MSDOS but I do not have any other info on this. Also, there was a public domain version of a simplified make command posted a few months ago by allegra!watmath!watrose!jmsellens. There may be a few copies still floating around somewhere. Address repost requests to him. jmsellens also has a more recent implementation available for a fee (I think $25) that is supposed to be faster. I have not used any of these. I received a copy of the public domain make but it was written for the DeSmet C Compiler and we are running the Computer Innovations C86 Optimizing Compiler here. The DeSmet compiler apparently allows imbedding assembler code in the source file, delimited by a <#asm> and terminated with a <#>. I currently have someone working on converting the in-line assembler code to something that the CI C86OC can handle. He is at allegra!eosp1!lillios. Address questions about conversion to him or me. I will post summary info. That is apparently all that I have received so far. I hope this answers most questions. Except one - why don't we all go out and get portable UNIX's and forget about trying to get as much UNIX functionality out of our micro? If anyone else gets info on makes, please post or mail me if not too much trouble. Ciao y'all.
