I have only taken a one semester Drawing class, but have been fairly successful at getting pictures on the page through gesture and continuous line drawing. Right now my favorite tools are a quill pen and india ink on newsprint or a smooth flowing pen, also on newsprint. It is so amazing to conjure up an image in my head and then develop it on the paper. My drawings are not attempts at realism, but instead show an essence of what the eye sees. Since I couldn't find a newsgroup on the subject, I suspect that there aren't too many people out there who draw as a hobby. Bill Smith ihnp4!astrovax!princeton!siemens!wws
