Long ago in Hollywood there was a director of German descent.  I am not
certain who it was (Carl Laemmle ?).  But in the early days of "talkies"
he wanted to shoot a film "Mit out sound".  Therefore whenever a shot has
no sound it is said to be done "MOS".
