Personal opinion:
    I think it's great that Michael is giving the money to "Charity"
(depending to some extent on what that means), however, I think that
announcing to the public that he is giving the money to charity is
(at best) tacky, and seems to be just a way to try to save his image
after the ticket fiasco.
    I certainly don't see this as a big sacrifice on Michael's part --
his personal worth has been estimated at $250 million, so giving away
$5 million is no big thing.
