A few people objected to my comment that I would not accept as a justifi- cation for her *pon farr* that females had a different cycle. I think I should justify my comment. If females as well as males went through *pon farr*, then it would have been more reasonable (and logical) for Saavik to say, "*Pon farr* is something that *all* Vulcans must go through at certain times of their lives," rather than specifying males.
