I did not see this a goof.  I immediately assumed that, once Spock
started to get his memory back, he would remember everything up to
the moment his katra was placed in McCoy.  He would then ask a
question for which he could not have had an answer, namely
	"The ship.  Out of danger?".
And, seeing Kirk, (and perhaps still believing that his life was
forfeit, says:
	"I have been, and always shall be, your friend."
