Spock's Katra DID NOT JUMP to McCoy UNTIL HE DIED!! If his essence had transferred before, (i.e. All that he knew, to borrow a phrase) then he could not possibly have known how to pull the switch on the warp engines!!! When he died, his Katra KNEW where to go, McCoy picked it up, and all the stuff he supposedly "couldnt have remembered" he DID remember, vaguely, and more certainly as Kirk quoted lines he REMEMBERED..... Okay?? Think about it. After Spock dies, McCoy says, "He's really not dead, as long as we REMEMBER him." Its the only possible solution. Not all the lines fit from the scene in ST2 from Spock's quarters, (i.e. Ship out of danger, etc.) If you read the novel from ST3, this explanation makes more sense.... Nuff said. David Whitney
