Whenever I try to read the first article in a given newsgroup, vnews transmits a character which causes my screen to scroll up one line. When this happens, the text previously on the screen is often not properly removed, and when I move on to the next article, the screen is scrolled down to where it should be, and some text again remains on the screen. A ^L will redraw the screen normally in each instance, but it's irritating to have to do this every time I move on to a new newsgroup. I have a similar problem with articles that are one line longer than an even multiple of the number of lines that make up a full screen. My terminal is a Concept AVT (Human Designed Systems, Inc.) with 8-page memory. The default parameters, which I use, set it up to look like a DEC VT100. I posted this problem locally a few months back, and got no real solutions. I'd like to hear from anybody who's found a solution for the problem. -- Bob Fishell ihnp4!ihu1g!fish
