		Director of the Robotics Laboratory
     of the Stanford Artificial Intelligence Laboratory

Duties include :

Administering the Robotics project, its relations with
Stanford University and the sponsoring agencies (govermental and industrial).

assisting Principal Investigator in defining, planning, and implementing
project research goals. 

Planning for space requirements.

Coordinating submission of research proposals, technical report, progress 
reports.  Handling of contract matters, legal issues.

Supervising budgeting and financial projection and management.

Supervising parts of research as may be suitable

Responsible for purchasing of equipment, facilities, etc.
System manager for computing equipment, including VAX 11/780, VAX 11/750,
several SUN workstations and LISP machines.

Hiring support personnel

Receiving visitors, representing the project, giving and arranging
demonstrations, preparing videotapes, films, and reports to document
research.

Qualifications:
Experience in administration and budgeting.
Technical background at BS level in computer science, electrical engineering,
or equivalent.  Experience with computer systems is helpful.

Salary:
Dependent on qualifications.
