Currently, the scripts are posted to the newsgroup "ut.stardate", which is distributed on University of Texas machines only. There is one script per day. To satisfy these requests, and to provide other USENET-ers the chance to read them, I am going to start posting them to the newsgroup "net.astro". However, in order to keep "Stardate" from conflicting with other discussions on "net.astro", I propose that a new newsgroup be formed, "net.astro.stardate", which would provide a forum for the scripts and perhaps discussion also. Discussion is in order concerning the postings and where they belong. I believe there is sufficient interest to support a separate "net.all" newsgroup, but if the consensus seems to be that the scripts should not be posted to any "net.all" newsgroup then so be it. The postings to "net.astro" will continue until there is enough hue and cry to stop or until "net.astro.stardate" is formed. The scripts will continue to be posted to "ut.stardate" concurrently, until the verdict is in on "net.astro.stardate". -- *>> Charles Sandel <<* uucp: {ut-sally, ut-ngp, noao, charm}!utastro!charles arpa: chaz@ut-ngp or charles@ut-sally at&t: (512) 471-4461 x439
