These devices eventually lose their charge and erase themselves unless they are periodically refreshed. The instructions that came with my Yamaha t-760 tuner stated that they'd last two or three weeks without refreshing. Apparently yours aren't as long-lived. Now, do you switch on the receiver with its own power switch, or do you use an external switch connected to the power cord, say, a switched outlet on another component? It might make a difference, since some devices keep a trickle of power available for non-volatile memory, e.g., MOS memories, even when the device is switched off.
