Your presets are kept in a non-volatile memory, probably a CCD type.
These devices eventually lose their charge and erase themselves
unless they are periodically refreshed.  The instructions that came
with my Yamaha t-760 tuner stated that they'd last two or three
weeks without refreshing.  Apparently yours aren't as long-lived.

Now, do you switch on the receiver with its own power switch, or
do you use an external switch connected to the power cord, say,
a switched outlet on another component?  It might make a difference,
since some devices keep a trickle of power available for non-volatile
memory, e.g., MOS memories, even when the device is switched off.
Unplugging it, however, will cut off even that small trickle, and
your presets will disappear.
