The following is somewhat of a flame. It's strictly my personal opinion, so , easy on those wild-assed rebuttals) I'm so tired of hearing people talk about Hafler gear as if it was straight from God Almighty, himself. This is where Hafler ranks (at least in my book). Level 1) K-Mart6 "blu-light special" et al. Level 2) Pioneer, Sansui, Radio Snack Level #3) HAFLER, Nad, Adcom, SAE Level 4) Precision Fidelity, Amber, PS Audio, Apt Level 5) Bryston, Acoustat, Berning, Conrad-Johnson Level 6) Mark Levinson, Audio Research Hafler *IS* a cut above your average Sansui, but please be aware that it IS NOT the ultimate in high fidelity. If you want to have something a little better than your next door neighbor's, the Hafler is just fine. If you are really seeking true fidelity, don't stop there!(level 3 ) For those of you who must justify your expenditures to a source higher than your own conscience, namely your wives/husbands, I suggest using my method. I have a subscrption to the AudioMart. It's a national publication of used high-end audio gear. Anything and everything is in there at affordable prices. Try it, you'll like it. Rayjay -
