If a wheel has been balanced and it still shimmies at most speeds (and wobbles slightly up and down at a crawl and seems out-of-round when spun up on a jack), does this mean that the tire is out-of-round? Let us assume that the wheel bearing and shaft is ok. I was under the impression that a wheel balancing would solve the woes of an out of round tire. Could a belt possibly have snapped?
