	Actually, the VW Golf may be really named after the sport.  In
	Germany, there is a smaller VW named Polo.

	Golf (out side of the U. S.) and polo are considered classy
	sports played by wealthy people.  VW might have wanted to
	somehow associate these cars with the sports and the people
	who play them.
