Regarding the question of whether it makes sense to have cruise control
in a car with manual transmission:

I have a 1984 Honda Accord LX Hatchback with a 5-speed manual trans-
mission.  Cruise control is standard equipment in the Accord LX.  I
have no problems with the cruise control in my car.
