Seems that the world records I trumpeted yesterday aren't after all. In O'Reilly's case (1 Km), the real record is 1:02.57 (Marc Malchow, E. Ger., in Mexico City). O'Reilly's 1:03.39 is a US record. In Nitz's case, his time of 4:36.44 beats the record of 4:37.31, but the UCI has not yet certified the Colorado Springs track, so it doesn't count. Nitz gets a US record too. To make matters worse, I misreported Tour de France results. Fignon, not Anderson, is leading the contenders. He is now in third after today's race, 12 minutes back. The race enters the Pyrenees tomorrow (Monday) and should get much more interesting then. -- Geoff Kuenning Callan Data Systems ...!ihnp4!wlbr!callan!geoff
