This happens to me quite often and it's a rare individual who actually *understands*. I've gotten the various sundry comments you mentioned plus a few scathing cracks about the maturity of "anyone who still reads comics." I think I've run the gamut from offering a plethora of terrific reasons for reading comics to self-righteously NOT voluteering ANY reasons! My parents probably consider it one of my least harmful eccentricities and a couple of my friends have actually asked to borrow a few that I considered particularly entertaining. Most people I know are apathetic about reading comics at *our* age(s), but a couple more fervent individuals think I'm (we're) nuts! As far as dates or other MOTAS are concerned, the responses I've gotten have been comparatively mild and non-judgemental. Then again, one solitary copy of Adventure on my nightstand isn't the case--I've got a special bookcase next to my bed with about 30 regulars in neat little stacks. I don't HIDE the fact that I read comics, but I don't dwell on it, either. (except here--among friends-----safety in numbers and all that....) ...it's the rest of humanity that's missing out! Chuck
