   I started reading comics when I was 19, so there was no
   'parental pressure'.  I was independent by then.

   The person who started me reading comics was my girlfriend
   at the time -- her comment was "You mean you don't know
   who the X-Men are?"...No problem there.

   As to what REALLY got me hooked: Elfquest and The Rocketeer.
