I keep mine in a safety deposit box at a bank. That way I don't have the problem of keeping two copies up to date. Obviously you don't want your only copy to be kept at home. I have photos of expensive items and books. I also have a description of each item (excluding books), when I bought it and how much it cost. Don't forget clothes, they can really add up.
