Lines: 23 Gyros,Thee answer Thee sauce here you go folks, a basic gyros recipes with the sauce ---marinate your meat(lamb or beef) over night in brandy drop the meat into hot oil along with onions, green peppers, garlic salt & oregano to taste heat through. add Feta cheese & more garlic and oregano to taste fill into half of a pocket pita bread (note: I have also seen this serves loose on top of a flat pita . There are both types available.) add sauce on top. THEE SAUCE (usually called a cucumber sauce and sometimes called a yogurt sauce.) *****************hence the confusion, your both right.*************** Take a cup or so of yogurt and add (1 medium sized) sliced or chopped cucumber and add garlic salt to taste.
