I'll admit that the University of Georgia is located in this fair state. I'll freely admit that UGA (University of Georgia at Athens -- the site from which the original article came) has more than its share of...shall we say...unfortunates. (As a parenthetical note {note the parentheses}, the vast majority of Georgia politicians are graduates of UGA. I think that explains a great deal. You might also note that if you were to ask people at UGA about some of the things they are noted for, they would probably point out former students like Herschel what's-his-name who couldn't even finish a 4 year degree program. For them, that's someone they can view with great pride -- at least he got a job. However, that's hardly something to recommend a university.) I must strongly object to your blanket aspersions upon the literacy and character of Georgians in general. The majority of us do not go around barefoot all the time and keep chickens in the house. That's the folks in Alabama. Nor are we totally bereft of fine educational institutions -- Emory University and Georgia Institute of Technology being sterling examples of such bastions of knowledge. Georgia may not be perfect in every respect, but it certainly is nothing to disparage (with the possible exception of UGA), especially by someone living in New Jersey. I think we can deal with this like civilized men. However, if you persist in such generalized slander, I will be forced to summon Billy Joe Bob and the boys, stuff 'em full of grits, pack them in the pickup truck, and send 'em up North to whack you upside yo head with a tire iron, ya hear? Either that, or send you a case of Billy Beer, COD.
