NAGEL's flame about hunting, but I must point out two things: 1) Extreme competition doesnt weaken either the group, or the individual members thereof. For those of you who like blood sports, notice how competition is essential to " in FOOBAW, BASK-O-BAW, and other TV entertainments. 2) I think the idea that hunting is "not sport", and that hunters are selflessly donating there time for management of wildlife is silly, but the idea of management is valid (I think), and besides, some perfectly reasonable (otherwise) people enjoy killing docile critters like elk. I think the result is a somewhat distasteful (to many), but least generally harmful solution to an undeniable problem. On the other hand, the drunks should be hanged by the nose until dead.
