Washington, Computer Sci Lines: 25 Sounds like your Ranger is a fairly new player. Is this true? There's nothing more annoying than a new player who thinks his character is the hottest thing around. If you haven't tried this already, maybe a careful explanation of the concept of experience levels would show him just how far down the ladder he is. If this doesn't work, start throwing in some impossible encounters (purple worms scare the hell out of most new players), with the intent that if the Ranger still wants to go in and hack&slash, the other players will say "take off, we aren't going in there!" or words to that effect. The idea in this suggestion is undermine the other players' loyalty in him, so they won't follow him so blindly. It is amazing what a little distrust in the leader of a party can do to the party's overall bravery (plummet city!). Still waiting for my own account...
