Lines: 20 When the game first became popular with my crowd back around 1975 we were all surprised to hear that fundamentalists were trying to have it banned because it taught about "evil, demons, black magic" and so on in direct defiance of the bible. There is some scripture to the effect that one should not pursue such things. I wouldn't worry about it. The same people out to ban D&D would ban books on most subjects, freedom of thought and inquiry, and mostly anyone who disagrees with their worldview. They're no fun to take to dinner either. Even the most devout seek to turn in their mundane existence for that of a flying creature, a winged angel. A shame that some kids kill themselves, but I heard that type of thing blamed on Superman comic books 20 years ago. Let's ban ignorance! A better fantasy life to all, and to all a good Knight. -- yba%mit-heracles@mit-mc.ARPA UUCP: decvax!mit-athena!yba
