I use version 9.0 and had read a scroll of Devil's Curse, which cursed everything in my pack. As I understand it, this means that the cursed items don't work as well, if at all. I met up with a ulodyte, and thought I would try zapping it with one of my two wands (both unidentified at the time), in spite of the fact they were cursed. I figured the wand either would do nothing or diminish the effect, but I never expected what was about to happen! I zapped the ulodyte, and presto-chango! It split into 8 ulodytes. With each subsequent hit of my sword (I didn't want to risk the wand again!) the number of ulodytes continued to increase until the room looked like a convention hall. I noticed that the mob rarely hit me (it seemed that as they multiplied, their hit potential diminished), and I somehow made it out of the room and down a staircase in one piece. After being killed later on in the game, I checked my identified pack items to determine what that wand of fertility really was. Lo and behold, all I had were a wand of magic missile and a wand of pyromania! Which of these two wands, when cursed, could have caused such a spectacular result? Or did I encounter a very unusual bug in the program??? If not a bug, does this mean that an item with a Devil's curse can have a totally different effect than what it was intended for?? E.
