Falling through a trap puts you one level lower.  Scrolls of
teleportation will zip you around the level you are on.
A maze is just a special type of "room" and can occur on any
level.  To go up a level, you MUST have the Amulet of Yendor
(found around level 20).  To get out of the maze on the same
level, search for secret doorways along the sides of the maze.
