Message-ID: <537@spuxll.UUCP> Date: Tue, 24-Jul-84 16:09:49 EDT Article-I.D.: spuxll.537 Posted: Tue Jul 24 16:09:49 1984 Date-Received: Sat, 28-Jul-84 09:50:04 EDT Organization: AT&T Information Systems, South Plainfield NJ Lines: 12 While playing Trivial Pursuit last weekend the question came up: Q: What's the common name name for the constellation Ursa Major. Well, m partner and I discussed the fact that it is "the Great Bear" and also the "big Dipper". We settled on the answer "the big Dipper" because around here that is the most common name. To our surprise the given answer was "The Great Bear". My question is this: Are there areas in the country or Canada which use "the Great Bear" more commonly than "The Big Dipper", or was this a mistake? Thanx in advance for the responses. Bob Riley
