dick goodman, wb1hih, section emergency coordinator for western
massachusetts,   reports   that   senate   bill   2112  of  the
commonwealth of massachusetts authorizes the northern berkshire
amateur  radio  club  to  lease  the  bascom lodge repeater and
antenna site for twenty years.   the  lease  becomes  effective
august 23.  the bill was signed by governor dukakis on june 21.

at the same time, the governor proclaimed amateur radio week in
massachusetts  to  coincide  with  field  day  operations  this
weekend.  details  will  appear  in  the  arrl  letter  and  in
