Having contributed my own (anti-code) two cents worth, I received an excellent reply by mail and have learned a lot from the discussion here. I'm a non-ham who has entertained a longtime dream to join the fraternity. Realistically, I know that code is no obstacle. The bigger obstacle is the time and expense of setting up a station. And it's damn hard to home-brew equipment approaching the quality of modern commercially- available stuff. But I never did get an answer to my one question... Are they still asking about triodes on the tests? ---------- Nathan Meyers hp-pcd!nathanm
