Although Duran Duran isn't a particular offender, there seem to be a lot of bands that can't really produce more than 30 seconds of material for a song - yet they crank out four or five minutes by repeatrepeatrepeating it. The Motels have a couple like this - one repeats "...then suddenly last summer..."; the other, "take the L out of lover and it's over...". I guess what I don't understand is why the people who buy this endlessly repeating music either don't notice or don't mind or the bands aren't embarrassed at having so little material for a song. OK, flame away if you wish, but I'd like to see what's behind it. Is it some sort of musical analog of an emerging minimalist movement? -- Dick Dunn {hao, ucbvax, allegra}!nbires!rcd (303)444-5710 x3086 ...Relax...don't worry...have a homebrew.
