The news sys file (available via the sendsys control message) is considered public information. After all, it contains no private information, and it is the only way to make net maps. The uuname output (available via the senduuname control message) may be allowed or disallowed at your discretion. To disallow it, just change the code in control.c that handles that call to do soething else, like mail back a sorry note.
