Unless you have some type of fenced in area where the pet would be protected from thoughtless drivers, etc., pets should be on a leash or at least supervised when allowed to run free. I have seen cats and dogs on the roadways too many times to think that they will be able to "take care of themselves". Our environment today is just not hospitable to letting our pets get back to their original nature! Josie Clementz
