As a human, I can't even interpret what some of these drivers are going to do let alone expect my pet to anticipate their actions. This is especially true where cats are concerned. Sometimes because they are so small people just don't watch for them. Others just don't care because of a cat's reproduction rate. It is also inconsiderate of other non-pet owners to let your pet infringe on their rights. After all, who has to clean up the pet's mess in someone else's yard or sand box? That brings me to my final point: human safety. I don't recall what the disease is (it was in net.garden a few weeks ago) but cats can spread a disease through their eliminations. Pregnant woman and children are especially susceptible. So you aren't only endangering your cat's life, but humans too, when you let your pet roam free. Personally, my cats are too important to me to risk losing them. Since we don't have any kids, they are our babies. We wouldn't let our kid roam free, so why should we let our cats ? They have complete run of our 1200 square foot house, so I'm sure they get all the exercise they need. And by the looks of the house sometimes when I get home from work, they seem to have plenty of adventure as well. Kathy
