Statistics Lines: 11 There you go again, Ray. Real interest rates in 1980 were, on average, about 18% (nominal) - 12% (inflation) = 6%. Now, in 1984, they are about 14% (nominal) - 4% (inflation) =10%, nearly twice as high. I can't bear to see you get away with saying they are the same.
