Lines: 16 Some of the very old documents of the church suggest that the notion of worship (liturgy) looks very much like everyday life.The word "liturgy" is from a very old root that pretty literally translates as "the work of the people". The difference lies in the suggestion that worship is work directed to its proper end, and acknowledging its origin and purpose. That's what the old books say, anyhow.
