If (and I mean IF) you want to use the book as a source for information, at least use ALL the information that's there; just before David and Saavik go at it, David makes a point, something similar to: David: "Um, where I'm from its polite to point out that I've passed all my exams in Bio control" Saavik: "Yes, I always thought the need to control the reproductive ability amusing, until now" This is heavily paraphrased, as I borrowed the book from a friend a few weeks ago and have since returned it. However, the point that was made early in the book was that apparently all humans and apparantly vulcans (maybe? at least Saavik) learn early to exercise control over their reproductive system. IF (notice the if) you want to take the book as Gospel, then not only is Saavik not pregnant by David, she also is not pregnant by Spock. Just thought I'd add more fuel to the controversy.
