He said he was interested in the net, what was on it, etc., so I ran off two weeks worth of "sf-lovers" and gave it to him. He wants to see more. He would also like to see what was said about "Startide Rising", if anyone has archived this anywhere. If anyone in the San Diego area can arrange legal net access for Mr. Brin, or run off and mail him "sf-lovers" periodically, I'm sure he would appreciate it. At the same convention, though, Harlan Ellison lamented his mistreatment by "fans" who had somehow gotten his address, and sent him all manner of postage due, C.O.D., uninvited GARBAGE. It required the hiring of a full-time secretary at one point, and probably cost a novel's worth of time. For this reason, I'm not going to post Mr. Brin's address. Instead, please send me some netmail with a return path, and a few sentences to convince me that you will be properly responsible with Mr. Brin's address. I will send the address back to the most convincing person. Perhaps I am paranoid, but I don't want anything slowing this guy down! -- Keith Lofstrom uucp: {ucbvax,decvax,chico,pur-ee,cbosg,ihnss}!tektronix!vice!keithl CSnet: keithl@tek ARPAnet:keithl.tek@rand-relay
