Let me assure the net.singles crowd that this is not based on an actual incident, and that I'm not sure I entirely understand the poem myself; I just offer it for your interest and enjoyment: ROMANTIC INTERLUDE She took a step ahead, into the woods, and walked greenly in the shadow of the young trees. The heat of her hair faded to highlights. She paused and turned; her eyes showed me her unvoiced screams. I stumbled forward, took her shoulders, then crushed her petite fragility to my broad chest. Our kiss was rapturous torment, for I knew not whether I would quiet her screams or increase them beyond all bearing.
