While I might personally not agree the concepts spouted by Lifesprint or EST, and while I might not enjoy the company of the people who have gone through them (my experience with 99.9% of EST grads is that they are now obnoxious boors with superegos where their brains used to be) but their techniques are safe when applied properly. There have been cases where problems have occured (in at least one case a man died of a heart attack in an EST class because the instructor wouldn't let anyone go for help-- I think he thought intimidation would stop the damage or something) but they are significant minority cases. They DO help people who have self-image problems get a better handle on asserting themselves. Most of the techniques they use are straight out of our dear friend B.F.Skinner. There is nothing that these classes teach you you can't find elsewhere (such as within yourself, for example). It is just a matter of how hard you want to look versus how much you want to pay... chuq -- From a hunting lodge for rich weirdos: Chuq Von Rospach {amd,fortune,hplabs,ihnp4}!nsc!chuqui (408) 733-2600 x242 Every single day, and every word you say, every game you play, every night you stay, I'll be watching you.
