A lotta times a person's physical characteristics sort of grow on
you.  For at least two of my formers SO's, I thought they looked
somewhere between plain and peculiar (ie definitely non-hunk...tho, as
someone else has noted, you can appreciate hunkiness in a mostly
abstract way--or I can, anyway)...Anyhow in both cases, I was initially
mostly attracted by an interesting intelligence, eventually I decided
that my SO was really physically very attractive (in a sort of peculiar
way).
