This scares the shit out of me.

I have been following this discussion with a moderate amount of
interest. First off let me say that I am not really suprised at Trish's
point of view. True, I have never met anyone quite so extreme, but
nevertheless I have met women whose felt men were "guilty until proven
innocent." (One of these, who initially hated my guts, is now a good
friend.) What does suprise me is how the flaming going on about it supports
her claims. The first few replies were clear and well thought out. Then
however, this nice little yelling match between Greg, Alan  and Robert
broke out. Each, by various name calling and petty attacks, supports
Trish's original claims. True, there have also been several quieter and
more apropriate replies, particularly those by Chuq and Spaf asking
Trish for a followup. I too would like too hear her comments on this
discussion, and perhaps a clarification of some of the debated points of
her article.
I don't know, but it seems a shame that all the well meaning people on
this net are willing to hurl insults at each other for the sake of
defending {minority group, a lone individual, the right to bigotry :-}
when a little respect and  the willingness to accept alternate points of
view could get a lot done.
Oh well, 'nuff said. Back to chaos.
