Actually, that doesn't quite make it either, "barbaric feature" is your term and not one I would use. I agree with you that societies treatment of the sexes is due to an interaction between the sexes and that neither the blame nor the responsibility rests on either sex exclusively. However, this is a news group dedicated to the discussion of women's issues and that is what is discussed here. Also, I think it is fair to say that women anticipate more immediate gains in a more balanced society than do men, therefore women are going to fight harder for that equality than men may do. Add that to the fact that men hold the power (i.e. the struggle is overbalanced) is it any wonder that in the discussions in a group dedicated to women's issues, they tend to focus on what men do to women, rather than vice versa?
