Lines: 29 >This outlook on single life, as expressed in phrases like "in the market" and >"fork over the bucks for her", is a rather depressing one, and I think is >a sign of some mental disturbance. Maybe I have a little more faith in human nature than some, but I feel that the above phrases were used to illustrate a point, rather than an all-encompassing outlook on single life. I feel that everyone wants an SO as a person with whom they can share the special moments of their life, and that they don't really equate the search with consumerism. It's just that sometimes we choose certain analogies and figures of speech while communicating (and hope that they are taken only as that). I find it entertaining when Ms. Chabot (may I call you Lisa?) gathers all these little quotes and puts them together to form results or expose contradictions, but I hope she isn't taking it all too seriously herself (I missed all the :-)'s that are usually plentiful in her postings). You can't take 20 pieces from a 500-piece puzzle and make a complete picture. Well... maybe you can -- I don't make the rules around here. > ...this stated relation >between rejection and mere monetary loss cheapens life. I'm giving LSC the benefit of the doubt and assuming her use of the word "cheapens" was for grins. -etan
