I don't know where to begin. There *are* no NET.POLICE, *Thank God*. That is one of the things that is *good* about this net. There is no one to tell me what I can and can't post, or what I should and shouldn't read, and I strongly desire to *keep* it that way! Terminals are built with a key, near the middle of the bottom row. It has a big "N" on it. If you don't want to follow a discussion, simply depress this key every time you see an article with the appropriate title(s), and presto! You won't be bothered by any of this stuff any more! I'm really getting tired of people complaining about the content of a newsgroup. If you don't like it, unsubscribe! Or if you don't like a particular topic, use your 'n' key! Why is that so difficult? It's one thing to argue with someone about the *content* of an article, but the mere suggestion, even in jest, of "net.police" is offensive to me. You can't stop anyone from posting (without changing this network into something that would be, in my opinion, much less useful and desireable), and no one is forcing you to read anything. So quit bitching and start hitting your 'n' key instead. It's much more constructive. Sorry about the flame, folks, but this pushed one of my buttons. --Greg -- {ucbvax!hplabs | allegra!nbires | decvax!stcvax | harpo!seismo | ihnp4!stcvax} !hao!woods "..every silver lining has a touch of grey..."
