Astrophysics Lines: 27 (this line has volunteered for a mission so dangerous...) ...And if you're thinking of volunteer work, why not consider Recording For The Blind ? This organization records various reading material, especially textbooks, on cassette tapes and distributes them free of charge to blind, or otherwise physically handicapped, students nationwide. There are many RFB studios across the country, perhaps even in YOUR city. Volunteers are needed for all phases involved in the production of tapes, but particularly sought (at least here in Princeton-- ARE YOU LISTENING, EECS Dept.?) are people with expertise in technical fields (including computer science) where it is important that the reader be familiar with the jargon, notation, complicated figures etc. The degree of commitment can be as little as 1.5 hours per session, with sessions usually regularly scheduled but at a time convenient to you; or, as much as you want. Take it from me, it's a good time, and worthwhile, too. If some of you computer jocks out there would give a little time, I might be relieved of reading CDC FORTRAN manuals...and who knows: you could meet some nice, attractive, warm, single type people!
