Pretend to be nice, warm, sensitive, etc. OK? Just act out the role, but do it consistently. Meantime, keep praying and trying and so forth to actually be nice, warm, sensitive, etc. If the change takes place, then GREAT. If it doesn't, then not to worry, because you will have the joy of all those people around you who think your so nice, warm, sensitive, etc. Yeah, I know, there are objections to this. (The Blaise Pascal Approach to being a christian [if you're a non-believer] has the same sort of difficulties.) Anyway, it's an idea. (Pascal thought his approach to being a christian was pretty neat, and Pascal is clearly one of the great geniuses of the world, so maybe the approach is better than it seems to us dummies.)
